GYMEA - Working with people who reside overseas/Legal Refresher 2020/Workplace Health and Safety

2 HR WORKING WITH COUPLES WHO RESIDE OVERSEAS
When a celebrant is approached by a couple (or one party) that resides overseas, whether they have the opportunity to sit down for an initial meeting or not, it is imperative the celebrant acts promptly and professionally with the knowledge of the legal requirements necessary for the celebrant to solemnise their marriage according to law in Australia.

2 HR LEGAL REFRESHER 2020
This will give the participant a refresher in celebrancy law. Not all celebrants have had the opportunity to conduct regular or many ceremonies, or have been unsure of some of the details of their legal responsibilities. This is when insecurities and inconsistencies arise, making it difficult for the celebrant to be confident of their legal responsibilities. This topic aims to provide refresher material, an overview of some of the legal aspects of our work.

1 HR UNDERSTANDING WORKPLACE HEALTH AND SAFETY
There is a considerable focus placed on Workplace Health and Safety in all states and territories. It is important to our role to understand what our responsibilities are, our duty of care and our obligations under the Act. We need to be able to relate these responsibilities to our role, how the Act relates to what we do and where and how we do it.  It is a useful exercise on Hazard and Risk Management.
