OPD 2020

Subcategories

Welcome to Life Skills Training's exciting new OPD Webinar option! Almost as good as face to face training, a webinar involves you logging in to webinar software, Zoom, from the comfort of your own home, and being trained by one of our fantastic trainers from the comfort of their home! You will have the opportunity to ask questions, just like you do at face to face OPD, and you don't need to submit any assessment tasks. Turn up for the appropriate hours, answer some questions throughout the session, and your OPD obligation will be ticked off.

Sessions will run 9am-4pm to allow for five hours' training with two one-hour breaks between sessions; believe me, staring at a computer screen for five hours in a row is no fun for everyone, so we're spacing things out a bit. You'll need a computer (it's better than a phone or tablet) with a speaker so you can hear the trainer, and an internet connection; you do NOT need a video camera if you don't have one. A microphone (even the one built in to your computer) may be useful not not essential if you don't have one.

Sessions in the Webinar East category will begin at 9am Australian Eastern Standard Time. Celebrants from any state are welcome to participate, starting at 7am AWST and 8.30am ACST.

Login details will be sent in the days before the session, and trainers will be online half an hour before the start time to help anyone who's having trouble connecting.

We have chosen topics that can be delivered in this slightly different format, and we will be limiting the sessions to a maximum of 15 participants each.

We're thrilled to be a market leader in this space, and looking forward to helping celebrants learn new skills in this challenging time!

If you have any questions at all, please don't hesitate to call Sarah on 0458 022 190 or email her at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..

Looking forward to seeing you on your computer screen!

Looking forward to seeing you on your computer screen!

Life Skills Training has an exciting OPD program on offer in 2020, with a range of topics approved for delivery by the Attorney General's Department. All celebrants must complete 5 hours of OPD, with at least one topic being chosen from Table 1 (these topics include some marriage law content).

Attendance at any of our 5-hour face-to-face sessions or completion of any of our 5-hour distance courses will cover your OPD obligations for the year, and we'll report your completion to the Attorney General's Department on your behalf.

Please choose carefully as no refunds are available once you have enrolled and paid for your registration.

Plans for face to face OPD sessions due to COVID-19 outbreak

I have made the difficult decision to cancel all face-to-face OPD sessions from 27 March 2020 until 30 September 2020. October-December sessions are still available. More information to come about alternative options, including our new OPD by video conference.
